1. a person who gives; giver; contributor. A person who gives his blood for transfusion is a blood donor; a person from whose body an organ or other part is removed for transplantation is also called a donor.
2. Law. a person who gives an estate or confers a power.
3. the atom that supplies the two electrons to form a semipolar bond with an acceptor.
